Worthing Recovery Fair hosted by Sir Peter Bottomley MP

We thank Sir Peter Bottomley, MP for Worthing and Chair of the APPG for 12 Step Recovery, for hosting our third Recovery Fair. We had an excellent attendance from service providers from Worthing and Brighton.

Listen to Sir Peter speak about his addiction and how recovering from addiction means we no longer must live as victims.

We had attendance from over 10 fellowships and shares from members of Al-Anon, Sex Addict Anonymous (SAA) and Cocaine Anonymous (CA). SAA has a saying, "turning from shame to grace" everyone in attendance attending a 12 Step Fellowship agreed that recovery allows us to escape the shame we may have felt in the past.

100% of people who did not feel confident recommending 12 Step Recovery to individuals they encounter on a professional basis reported that, after attending a Recovery Fair, they now feel comfortable recommending 12 Step Recovery professionally.

Some quotes from

attendees on what they found most helpful:

“Very powerful to hear from people who have taken their journey to change.”

“Hearing people's stories and feeling strength and positivity. Great food!!”

“Witnessing a meeting as this is not something I have seen before. It informs me about those I work with.”

“Shared stories and the struggles, the successes and the experiences”

“I didn't realise there were so many different fellowships.”

If you want to carry the message of recovery, find more information on our website, www.visiblerecovery.uk, about what a Recovery Fair is. Please get in touch
